Expressing emotions / by Amanta Scott

Nearing the end of this activity, I asked whether people were ready to stop and move on to the next part of the workshop or whether they wanted to continue creating installations and telling their stories.

Participants chose to continue with the suitcase.

I'm really pleased that people found it a worthwhile experience. I'm thrilled that they felt themselves opening up upon hearing other people's views of the objects; and I'm overjoyed that people found it both a healing and fun experience.

Certain objects were quite controversial: they were included, featured and removed multiple times, and always with a great deal of discussion and laughter.

People shared a range of intensely emotional and personal stories without words.
