— a multi-disciplinary interactive art installation and social engagement project — where diverse points of view converge with the distance of perspective.
Parallel Lines encompasses: a series of photo-based encaustic paintings centred around a prison bed, a prison suitcase and an individual; with two interactive sculpture installations featuring prison beds from the former Kingston Penitentiary for Women; accompanied by story sharing and community workshops.
Parallel Lines will be exhibited at Museum of Northern History, Kirkland Lake, March 2018; Sioux Lookout Community Museum, August/September 2018; and Temiskaming Art Gallery, in 2019.
Artist Talks, Walk-throughs and Arts Workshops in the galleries and in the communities are available upon request.
As a charitable, artist-run, not for profit arts organization, LeadingTone relies on community partners, sponsors and donations to enable us to create and deliver projects and arts workshops that inspire children's minds; engage youth and seniors; and unite people of all cultures in conversation.
Help us continue to generate real change in communities through engagement with art and all of its intersections with our daily life.
