Amanta has been teaching piano since she was sixteen. She teaches all styles of music, encouraging students to learn what they want to learn be it classical, jazz, pop, latin, rock, improvisation, blues, theory or composition.

Amanta believes it is never too late or too early to start learning music. Her students range in ages from 4 years to 88 years of age.

LESSONS
Lessons are held weekly from September through June. Lessons are also available in the summer months.
There are no lessons from December 17th through January 2nd; and Spring Break Week March 11th through 17th.

PRACTISING
Daily practice is expected: a minimum of five days per week of 1/2 hour for beginners, 3/4 hour to 1 hour for intermediate and 2 - 3 hours for advanced students.

TUITION
Students receive 40 lessons per year from September to June with the year end of August. Tuition is payable by the month, in advance, by postdated cheques dated for the first day of the month. Lessons are usually 3/4 of an hour in duration, however hour lessons are also available, and 1/2 hour lessons are available for younger beginner students. Four weeks notice must be given if a student discontinues lessons and cheques will be returned.

CANCELLATIONS, MAKE UPS, AND SWITCH LIST
A commitment of attending lessons regularly is expected. If a student has a conflict, he or she may exchange times with another student; a 'switch list' of names, phone numbers, and lesson times will be issued for this purpose. A maximum of two lessons per year will be made up if the student cancels the lesson for any reason. Twenty-four hours notice is required for cancelled lessons. Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be made up at a mutually agreeable time. Cancelled make-ups will not be rescheduled. The year's lessons must be used up from September to August.

SHEET MUSIC, MUSIC ON LOAN AND CONTACT INFO
Students are responsible for purchasing books for their lessons. Local music stores include Long and McQuade, Reminyi Music and Dave Snider Music Centre.  Music is available on loan from the studio but must be returned by the end of the year or the student will be billed.
